THE LONDON AMBULANCE PARAMEDIC PROGRAMME
in collaboration with the
PATIENTS' FORUM FOR THE LAS
The Patients' Forum for the London Ambulance Service
The Patients' Forum for the London Ambulance Service (PFLAS) monitors the LAS and other ambulance and emergency services across London. Our members are local people who examine services both as users and active lay people.
The Forum obtains the information it needs to monitor health services from the LAS, the Commissioners and NHS services across London. The Patients' Forum for the London Ambulance Service monitors many London Ambulance Service activities.
The Forum meet monthly in public to discuss major topics of interest to our members and to hear from speakers who have expertise in the development of urgent and emergency care in London.
The Forum raises awareness of the needs and views of patients and the public, and attempts to place them at the centre of LAS decision-making.
The Forum has a number of primary roles, which include:
-
Obtaining views of local people about ambulance and emergency services
-
Liaising with any body in London with an interest in developing better urgent and emergency care services
-
Monitoring delivery of ambulance and 111 urgent care services
-
Influencing the design of, and access to emergency and urgent care
-
Providing advice and information to patients and their carers about access services
-
Advising patients and carers about using the complaints system in the LAS
