THE LONDON AMBULANCE PARAMEDIC PROGRAMME
in collaboration with the
PATIENTS' FORUM FOR THE LAS
Lay Actors
Part of the assessment and training at the Paramedic Programme requires the participation of people who act as 'patients' (mock patients), for the Trainee selection and assessments. The process requires the 'mock patient' to act as if they are ill, while the Trainee questions them and assesses their condition.
Limited physical contact takes place except, perhaps, checking the pulse or blood pressure, and in some of the patient assessments, the Trainee may need to perform some hands-on assessment. This would be discussed and agreed upon prior to participation.
Members of the Forum who would like to participate, are invited to attend a training session, prior to their participation.
If you would like to become a member of the Patients' Forum, visit www.patientsforumlas.net/join-us to complete the Registration Form.
The cost of membership is £10.00 per annum.
